Samplesode 43: Wacker Brewing Company

There is just too much beer in the world to only taste twice a month. In the spirit of more is better the Blind Tiger podcast team has decided to add samplesodes to the podcast lineup. These mini-episodes will feature only tastings of hopefully unique or exotic beer, often on location to keep your Blind Tiger intake at a more regular interval.

This week Mike, Jesse, and myself stayed a bit closer to home and visited the brand new Wacker Brewing Company tasting room. Finally, there is a location where you can go to insure that you are able to drink all the beer that Wacker Brewing has to offer.

Wacker Brewing Company has an impressive history that begins in 1853 and continues (off and on again) until today. In 2014 the brewery was reopened in the basement of the Thistlefinch Distillery's warehouse. They were at last year's Lancaster Craft Beerfest where they wowed the audience with authentic German style beers.

There beer has been popping up all over Lancaster with Quips Pub having a custom Wacker beer brewed just for them. Tellus360 has had Wacker's Kolsch (my personal favorite) on tap for months now.

Yet it can be difficult to find their beer when you want it. But not anymore! Their new taproom is gorgeous with an impressive aesthetic that seems to REALLY fit their style.

I don't want to get into too many details but we loved our visit. Listen to the episode to get our thoughts and check out the photos below. And absolutely go check out their new taproom. If you love their beer you'll love their bar.
